Blood & Beyond: Issues in Cardiovascular and Critical Care

Dalhousie Department of Anesthesia and the Perioperative Blood Management Services present the 3rd Annual Blood & Beyond Conference, focusing on issues in cardiovascular and critical care. This one and a half day meeting is open to healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, lab technologists and medical learners from multiple disciplines such as anesthesia, surgery, medicine, hematology, intensivists, family medicine and perfusion.

The aim of the conference is to provide healthcare professionals with education in the area of blood management specific to the practice of cardiovascular and critical care. Session topics will include the role of cell salvage in massive hemorrhage, goal-directed therapy and the use of non-invasive monitoring, iron overload and toxicity, and blood management strategies for inflammation and hemostasis.

CME Accreditation

This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, approved by Dalhousie Continuing Medical Education for 12.0 credit hours.

This event has been approved for 11.75 study credit hours for family physicians by the provincial chapter of the Canadian College of Family Physicians.
